Lord Holdings Co. LLC
Matthew Lersch and Shannon Lord
The investment group has been a concept in Matthew’s mind for over two decades. It wasn’t until the weeks leading up to their Caribbean wedding excursion, surrounded by 22 of their closest friends and family, that Matthew decided to make his concept a reality. He envisioned the group as the vehicle to make sure he and Shannon were able to retire in style with their closest friends; having adventures, traveling the world and experiencing a variety of cultures and people on all continents. Matthew also spent many years swinging a hammer to help communities recover from hurricane disasters in Florida and Louisiana.
Matthew has spent his entire adult life in either construction or finance. He has done everything from swinging the hammer, construction litigation and auditing, multi-family reserve studies,to building financial models for municipalities doing construction planning. Shannon currently works in technology sales with multi-national retail companies and has spent her career in retail merchandising, project management and IT. Married on a sailboat in Jalousie Bay in 2015, the couple have four children between them; two school-aged and two adult; and are involved in youth sports, disaster relief and advancing women’s tackle football to a professional level.
Matthew serves as the President of Jalousie Bay Holdings Inc.
Reign Holdings & Investments LLC
Reign Holdings is new to the real estate world but has extensive experience in managing operations. Born and raised in Seattle, Scott McCarron works as a Senior Buyer for Zulily after spending 20 years with Costco Wholesale where he held various roles in Accounting, Operations, and Merchandising. Scott, a single member, manages the operations of the equity group overseeing the vacation rental and multi-family properties the group owns.
Outside of his day job with Zulily and Jalousie Bay, Scott is an offensive coordinator at a local high school and is also head coach of the Seattle Majestics Women’s Football team. In his free time, Scott spends his time going to various athletic events for his two daughters and a son.
Scott serves as Vice President of Jalousie Bay Holdings Inc.
Peacock Ranch Holdings LLC
Bill and Dawn Kafes
With current careers in construction and technology—and a little health care business on the side - Bill and Dawn lead a very busy life. Outside of their work lives, they are active “Coloradoans” who spend a significant portion of their time in the outdoors with their dogs and friends: hiking, paddle boarding, rowing (for Dawn), motorcycles, and skiing/boarding.
Travel is and will continue to be a big part of their lives (a map on their wall marks the places they have visited, with so many more pins yet to be placed). Both Peacock Ranch principals are big bourbon fans so exploring distilleries when they travel is a must! Their first international trip together was to Zimbabwe (where they built a pre/postnatal care facility in Chidamoyo), all of which resulted from a holiday party conversation on the day they met, just over a year earlier. Volunteering (both local and global) is a huge passion for the Kafes’s, and with the equity group they are committed to the goal of building a foundation to support the needs of others, during times of tragedy and loss.
When Matthew cast his vision of the equity group to Bill and Dawn, they knew they had found their future: a strategy (and business) that could be their legacy for their family. Their individual retirement and investment strategy was solid, but not anywhere near the potential they could see working with a group of like-minded individuals.
Dawn serves as the Treasurer for Jalousie Bay Holdings Inc.

Becky and Cyndi Butz-Houghton
Becky Butz-Houghton is a school psychologist who works with deaf and hard of hearing kids across the state of Washington. Her wife Cyndi is a a video producer. At home, they have a young toddler so most of their non-work hours are spent playing with her in the outdoors, making art, dancing and going out for ice cream.
As close friends of Matthew and Shannon’s, the Butz-Houghton’s attended the Lersch-Lord Carribbean wedding in 2015 and learned there about Matthew's vision for Jalousie Bay Holdings. Cyndi often works freelance or on contract so doesn’t have a company-sponsored retirement plan, and must plan for retirement without the support of an employer. Not only does participation in the group align with their goals of attaining financial security and having the freedom to retire early and travel when and where they want, it also helps them as they plan for their daughter’s college education.

Kosoff Holdings LLC
Mike and Lori Kosoff
Mike is an environmental consultant for a large firm in downtown Seattle and Lori works as a buyer for a popular warehouse chain. In their free time we enjoy golfing, paddle boarding, watching football, going to concerts, and trying to keep up with their two bulldogs and laborador retriever.
When Matthew Lersch and Shannon Lord shared the Jalousie Bay Holdings vision with them, they realized this was a way to grow their income at a rate that would allow them more financial freedom than was offered by the standard 401k option as well as give them an opportunity to travel more.

Dr. Robert Ian Williams
Dr. Williams grew up in the Pacific Northwest in Newcastle, WA, and graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in psychology. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic receiving a doctorate degree with magnum cum laude honors. Now that Dr. Williams has joined the organization, he’s working towards his long term goals of owning a building in Bellevue, WA, and traveling the world more to learn about different cultures just like he did during his trip to Madagascar.
Pylon Holdings LLC
Reuben and Shao-Lin Rios
Shao-Lin and Reuben Rios are among the newest additions to the core Jalousie Bay Holdings group. Shao-Lin is a graphic designer originally from Taipei, Taiwan. Reuben is an architectural project manager originally from El Paso, Texas. Graduates of University of Oregon and Texas Tech respectively, their paths eventually crossed in Bremerton, Washington, while working at the same architecture firm.
From early in their relationship one thing became clear, they agreed that their path to financial security was through their own investment and not putting everything in a 401K. And more specifically, real estate. And even more specifically, taking an active, hands-on role in the real estate. Shao-Lin proved she could paint a whole house inside and out in a few days (while pregnant) and Reuben spent all his time demolishing and remodeling. Their plan was simple. Buy and flip properties. After getting married, they rented out their houses in Bremerton and bought a 1950’s rambler in Bellevue to embark on The Adventure. Then they had 2 boys to add to the one Reuben already had. That was the end of all their “free” time. They needed a new investment outlet.
That’s about the time Reuben met Matthew through work. Matthew introduced them to the concept behind Jalousie Bay Holdings and showed them the mechanics of the first deal the group would eventually invest in. The concept was solid and the opportunity could not be ignored. The investment group gave Shao-Lin and Reuben the ability to get back to investing in real estate on a much larger scale.
